An existing warehouse brick building in Brooklyn, NY is transformed with the addition of two private residences above. The new residences are set back from the street and at the rear to create private landscaped terraces.  A sculptural wood screen at the front of the building shields the private terrace and provides a distinctive urban presence for the commercial space below. Even within a compact urban setting small landscapes can exist within.
